A holistic eye, mind and body approach.
As a Yoga Teacher for over 20 years, I’ve worked with people who are registered blind, people who use a wheelchair and people with a great range of physical and mental health issues.
I teach therapeutic yoga classes and specialise in Vision Yoga, which combines natural vision therapy with somatic movement and yoga. I also teach general level students who come for their wellbeing. I have found that with the right approach, connection and healing are available to all.
My Approach
Learn from yourself in this moment.
I have practised many styles of Yoga and as my personal yoga practice has evolved, I have become more interested in engaging with the subtle experiences of the body and mind. This has naturally led me to a more mindful, intuitive approach, which I am so happy to share with my students.
This method gives space for people to explore which movements feel right for them at any given moment. I will give structure, guidance and encourage my students to tune in to what they are feeling. In this way, I am a guide but your own body becomes your teacher.
It is an eclectic and often playful practice which draws from a great range of yoga styles and movement practices. I have been greatly inspired by Somatic movement, which has allowed me to shift the focus onto the internal sensations of the practice.
Mindfulness meditation offers us an opportunity to become fully present in each moment. We use the breath to create the bridge between the body and the mind, allowing us a calm and deeply focused connection to our experience.
Through my Vision improvement journey, I have found that relaxation is the key to bring about healing and transformation.
